About The Machias Wild Blueberry Festival
The Machias Wild Blueberry Festival was started 46 years ago by Dwight Whitney Jr. He created this festival to celebrate the blueberry crop. The first year, the festival witnessed a small number of vendors and visitors. But with time, the festival started becoming a huge celebration in the Down East of Maine. Centre Street Congregational Church, UCC, helps make this festival a great success each year.
Food At The Blueberry Festival in Machias
You will find various meal options, from blueberry-themed desserts to hamburgers, mac and cheese, and tacos. A dessert buffet, two food courts, and multiple food vendors are set up in the fairgrounds. Visitors can also taste fresh wild blueberries from the farms of Maine. The church conducts a breakfast buffet in the morning.

Fairgoers can buy jewelry, pottery, sea glass art, designed T-shirts, quilts, and more. The updated list of vendors can be found on the fair’s website.
